my windows: windows 7 x64 ultimate last month (3/2017), ran across appears problem/conlict between avast pro antivirus , windows updates, with: march, 2017 security monthly quality rollup windows 7 x64-based systems (kb4012215) , update windows 7 x64-based systems (kb2952664) initially installation of these updates failed.  then, after trying again, install appeared have succeeded windows wouldn't load afterward. @ boot, the login loaded slowly, after logging in, come blank screen mouse pointer (moveable, not frozen).  using system restore brought pc was.  also, boot in using safemode (with networking), , worked fine in safemode. later tried updates again, , avast pro made me install update. same problem returned. tried uninstalling avastpro, installing windows updates, and reinstalling avastpro a/v. same problem returned. basically, have found if both avast pro , above updates installed, windows won't load- normal boot becomes stuck.  ha

background info on has done ;since june  2016 ,i have had use wusa install windows updates of large size because windows update hangs on downloading update. worked until dec 2016 when upped ante , not did hang on download corrupted database , caused wusa.exe not work causing server execution failed in wusa. present day;finally took last night install kb3213986 using new usual method 3 net stop bits,net stop appidsvc,net stop wuauserv net stop cryptsrv  , here result.the application identity service not started.wuauserv service starting or stopping try again later. around disable windows module installer since stuck on stopping or starting ,reboot computer , put on automatic , use wusa offline install downloaded update way computer update not choice. so seen kb3211320 on web ,only 11 megs ,never had problem before such small download have charter broadband should take 2 secs download ,nope hung again had use method 3 along killing modules installer ,

split thread. i upgraded windows 10 purchased windows 7 pro dvd. pc on it's way out , building new pc. assuming able transfer current license how done? you can use windows 7 key activate windows 10 on new computer. uninstall product key older pc first , can use key on other computer. to uninstall key,type in  slmgr -upk  in command prompt(admin)  then can use key anywhere. alternatively can call microsoft activate os on newer pc Windows / Windows 10 / Install, upgrade, & activate / PC
