latestwu not sticking - Microsoft Community

background info on has done ;since june  2016 ,i have had use wusa install windows updates of large size because windows update hangs on downloading update. worked until dec 2016 when upped ante , not did hang on download corrupted database , caused wusa.exe not work causing server execution failed in wusa.

present day;finally took last night install kb3213986 using new usual method 3 net stop bits,net stop appidsvc,net stop wuauserv net stop cryptsrv  , here result.the application identity service not started.wuauserv service starting or stopping try again later. around disable windows module installer since stuck on stopping or starting ,reboot computer , put on automatic , use wusa offline install downloaded update way computer update not choice.

so seen kb3211320 on web ,only 11 megs ,never had problem before such small download have charter broadband should take 2 secs download ,nope hung again had use method 3 along killing modules installer , rebooting (side note should not have type in bull edit registry -if motto fixing windows update edit registry @ least microsoft provide copy , paste functions in command prompt adimin work not there hour typing regserv regserv that)where ,oh yea today wanted check settings ,so ran trouble shooter ,here found .

some security settings missing or changed fixed;service registration missing or corrupt fixed;potential windows update database error detected fixed; windows update components must repaired fixed. @ least worked time instead of saying windows update database corrupted not fixed .so ran bits troubleshooter ,odd it  says fixed same 4 things again,so ran windows update trouble shooter again , said fixed same 4 items again.

recap ran latestwu 3 times admin , should have fixed first time , got no indication of error.

here list of services , there status since have kill processes update work cause wuauserv wont stop.

windows module installer running-manual:application id no status -manual trigger:bits running - automatic:cryptographic services  running- automatic , last not least wuauserv stopped, these settings normal not downloading or installing anything.

have ever run norton removal tool and/or mcafee consumer products removal tool?

this new computer bought in nov  2015 windows 10 installed factory...
