Windows 10 update KB3206632 continues to fail to install - Microsoft Community

i having trouble windows update kb3206632. attempts install, upon rebooting, @ 15% complete indicates update cannot installed, , undoes update, try again in near future. system log indicates error 0x80070538.

i have tried following solutions, no avail:

  1. windows update troubleshooter. each time, says fixes corruption in update database, update still fails.
  2. offline install of the update, both in normal boot , in safe mode.
  3. manually stopping several services , restarting them, including wuauserv, crytpsvc, bits , msiserver.
  4. sfc /scannow, uncovers no issues
  5. using dsim tool, i.e., dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

click on unsuccessful link related update see error code.
