Editing and compressing videos in movie maker - Microsoft Community

i can happily edit , compress normal videos in ms movie maker 

however, have started use samsung 5 phone shoot video in portrait orientation

when play them in vlc, great

however, when try , edit them in ms movie maker, doesn't recognise portrait , fits them landscape frame black margins on each side

ms movie maker capable of editing video shot in portrait portrait video file - and, if so, how?

or convert landscape?

movie maker outputs in landscape orientation. if import vertical video, placed landscape rectangle before saved.

your choices are:

1. live movie maker sticking vertical video thin strip in middle of empty black rectangle.
2. switch editor can natively edit , save vertical video.
3. stop recording vertical video , shoot horizontal instead.

my recommendation third option. in meantime, enjoy humorous video on subject.
