hello all my problems numerous , have tried several solutions mentioned on here no avail.  purchased new laptop in october 2016 - windows 10 pre-installed.  windows loaded onto 128gb ssd - 'c' drive , there 'd' drive ntfs. checking on update history find updates kb3201845 (december 2016), kb3206632 (december 2016) , kb3213986 (january 2017) have failed install , various times.  as far can tell other microsoft updates have installed successfully. some of things i've tried: using windows update troubleshooting - appeared make no difference downloading 'stand alone' updates , installing - failed reset pc (keeping personal files) - failed factory reset pc (remove files) - failed return previous build - failed (no earlier build return to???) followed solutions using command prompt - updates still fail install windows 10 via microsoft's tool - fails during installation obviously getting annoying ...... ,

hi there, i've had toshiba satellite p50-a laptop running windows 8.1 3 years , has been bulletproof - i've run arcgis, pro tools, etc, , never problem wasn't solved restart. then problem: all have running firefox browser , i'm reading email when screen goes black - no sound, no message, no warning - 25-30 seconds later laptop shuts down - hard drive stops , indicator lights go out, except charge light have plugged in. when press power button comes right was, on same email, no re-boot. short time later - 30 seconds 3-4 minutes - black screen , shuts down again. after few rounds of tried restart, accomplished, didn't fix it, still had same problem. i've tried several restarts same result. bought fixmestick , did full scan in case there malware @ work. laptop stayed on 4+hours took scan, when started again problem still there. this not over-heating shutdown issue - go black screen , shut down when it's been on

i lost entire harddrive contents on surface pro3 when logging in on work domain. serious problem, least.  i think everyone's first reaction might "malware" or "virus", not happened. these issues seem inherent windows , surface pro. please read on... here's happened:   i made change in group permissions on local machine (i need able control power options, surface pro locking out though had local admin privilege). worked fine logging in, had inadvertantly created software conflict adding permissions guest users group (adobe did not guest group license). signed in administrator , removed guest users permission had added, leaving else same.   logged out , logged in under user account (not admin), , @ login, surface treated login if first time using machine.   even more troubling, of documents , icons had vanished desktop. harddrive showed had 400gb available, before there 3gb available (yes, know low space).

hello,  2 days ago tried installing game on computer , got "the windows installer service not accessed. can occur if windows installer not correctly installed. contact support personnel assistance" i didn't understand why happening since i've had computer 2 years , haven't seen pop when installing something. tried installing other programs see if problem game. same thing happened. i searched on google , downloaded installer (not microsoft) managed install game after that.  today tried installing else , same problem appeared. don't know do. i've looked @ other post this. tried running "net start msiserver" nothing appears.  please me unregister windows installer, , reregister windows installer. this, follow these steps: 1. press windows key + r 2. in "open" box, type msiexec /unreg , , press enter. 3. press windows key + r 4. in "open"

until have been using windows live mail email accounts including gmail.  cannot gmail in windows live mail , receive message imap server has issued unrecognised greeting.  can pleae? **post moved moderator appropriate forum category.** gmail uses 2 factor authentication.  need turn off second 1 imap or pop3 work. https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps make other settings correct. had expressed great concern not being able open .albm folders/files in windows 7 -- erroneously thought folders containing jpegs had been turned .albm files having clicked on "yes" having files in folder indexed tried use search function in start--buy wrong.  it after searching (and having found . jpeg file/image looking ) first noticed of folders (at end of of rest of stored photos) labeled .albm , assumed had been other stored folders of mine containing jpegs , tiffs had been somehow converted .albm folders having used windows indexing function part of search.  after many unsuccessful attempts find way open .albm folders, and/or convert them previous state, continued search through these microsoft communities , kept seeing other frustrated windows users not open same .albm files/folders, , noticed many of kept referring old hp printer no longer had seemingly had allowed them create "albums" of pictures (probably in jpeg format) , had
