opening and viewing images stored as HP .albm files/folders - Microsoft Community
had expressed great concern not being able open .albm folders/files in windows 7 -- erroneously thought folders containing jpegs had been turned .albm files having clicked on "yes" having files in folder indexed tried use search function in start--buy wrong. it after searching (and having found . jpeg file/image looking ) first noticed of folders (at end of of rest of stored photos) labeled .albm , assumed had been other stored folders of mine containing jpegs , tiffs had been somehow converted .albm folders having used windows indexing function part of search. after many unsuccessful attempts find way open .albm folders, and/or convert them previous state, continued search through these microsoft communities , kept seeing other frustrated windows users not open same .albm files/folders, , noticed many of kept referring old hp printer no longer had seemingly had allowed them create "albums" of pictures (probably in jpeg format) , had contacted hp no avail. it remembered had created albums of pictures (with captions under each picture had written) , had saved on external hard drive) , hp's program (disc) came printer (which bought in year 2000) (hp photosmart version 1.5.0.5 © 1999). fortunately, had saved original disc , have been using ever since on of computers , laptops have owned because using album function in order , create multi-photo albums can saved (in hp's "albm" format) printed album page onto photo paper. i can same thing using photoshop takes lot longer , lot more work. i have hp photosmart program installed on current computer running windows 7 (i don't want upgrade 10 @ time) and, once remembered .albm folders/files/pages (that erroneously first looked @ , though inaccessible , freaked out!) saved in folder opened old hp program, clicked on "open album" navigated folder full of old .albm files (that folders) , clicked on one, , voilá! the page of images opened, ready printing, , of same captions under individual pictures intact. the disc have burned files in hp program can installed on pc, @ least pc running windows 7 (and installed on older computer running xp, , don't have have hp printer plugged existing system (as many wrote community forum complained about) in order install software program , use on pc! if out there still trying open old .albm files , have not found way of doing so, , have given up--i feel sorry and, if e-mail me @ *** email address removed privacy *** let know how can once again open hp .albm files.
