Windows 10 - Updates Restart Loop - Microsoft Community

i have had windows 10 quite time now.  however, keep having issue when updates install gets stuck in loop when trying restart.  there "in progress" type wheel on screen , gets stuck.  after hours - mean 8+ hours - still cannot seem restart.  

i hear there patch, unable find it.

  • are there changes made prior issue?
  • what troubleshooting steps have done far?
  • are getting error messages when performing action?

meanwhile, let's isolate issue performing these steps , see if helps:

step 1: perform system file checker (sfc) scan.
 
system file checker utility in windows allows users scan corruptions in windows system files , restore corrupted files.
 
 
step 2: clean boot.
 
a clean boot performed start windows using minimal set of drivers , startup programs. eliminate software conflicts occur when install program.
