Need to go back to 8.1 from windows 10 due to speaker driver - Microsoft Community

since moving windows 10 8.1, sort of okay, until after doing update, lost sound.  after ton of troubleshooting, can't update or install driver unless go 8.1.  horrible!!  help!!

you not have install windows 8.1 install windows 8.1 driver. device, if remove device manager , restart computer, redetected. if have forced mismatched driver install, windows appear convinced have different device have. have force correct driver install.

in device manager can hardware id actual hardware. find sound controller in list of devices , double click properties page. under details tab in list hardware ids , compatible ids. can search online ids find right driver.

the hardware id like:

hdaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0892&subsys_10280541
