please update paint 3d able open stl files. view 3d *can* open them fine. when open them in view 3d, , click "paint 3d" button, gives error message: "we couldn't open paint 3d. wait bit, try again." i did, , keeps failing. then, manually go paint 3d, , open file there. in order that, have enter "*.*" filename, otherwise won't pop up. file types dropdown doesn't list stl files. that's reason, apparently, because paint 3d says: "paint 3d can't read file. may invalid, or in format don't support." so, recap: 1) file valid, because view 3d can open fine 2) why can paint 3d not open file, while view 3d can? 3) please add functionality paint 3d. it's industry standard file type 3d models. this on windows 10.0.15063. and here's link file in question, microsoft dev guys can test aginst it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0b7xtjok

i having windows 10 problems, decided repair install (mount iso , run setup.exe) keep apps , settings. so decided download creators update iso , installing upgrade (from anniversary edition have). had image backup of current windows 10 on internal hard drive in pc. did the creators update install , when finished met black screen upon start or restart of os. tried advanced troubleshooting options detect startup problems (hold down power button 3 times after bios boot , when os starts load). didn't work. i restored windows 10 image of anniversary edition booting acronis boot cd , restoring partition image. so decided repair install of windows 10 using anniversary edition iso. went well, @ end of install asked me if wanted os upgrade creators update. said no. it put icon on desktop saying "windows 10 upgrade assistant". i don't want upgrade creators update because of black screens. how keep off pc?

hey guys, this first post, hello , thank replies. i dug old laptop supposed have failed motherboard, delightful surprise boots fine. asus gl551. problem this...i not have admin access bios, user level access, cannot change boot sequence. then, don't have windows loging info either, , never setup admin account visible login screen. old boot sequence is: hdd, dvd, network....so no usb. further more, have tried boot other various operating systems, mint,  trinity, torrented win7, none of them boot, except official purchased win7, when boot , select "repair system" or whatever, error saying: "this version of system recovery options not compatible". can full format...i think...maybe not considering lack of bios access, have precious data on machine. if of guys can find magical workaround, appreciate it. bios info: vendor - american megatrends ver. 204 thanks again. --buddha never
