Unexpected shut down & restart - Microsoft Community

my friend has acer desktop using win 8.1. has problem computer shuts down without warning & restarts itself. has not made changes computer, new software.

we took staples checking out technician said not find problem. bought new power bar - one. helped setup computer using new power bar. @ first looked ok, not long before called problem recurring.

we took computer staples today. technician said check again, problem electrical outlet in house. sounds me quite plausible.

or possibly problem in windows?

experts - please tell me think.

the second time took computer staples took power cord & insisted test again using friend's own cord. no surprise staples confirmed power cord problem. bought new power cord & re-setup computer. working fine - far, good.

btw - isn't 'acer' - 'asus'.
