Media Player stopped working while attempting to play mpeg files - Microsoft Community

i have windows 10 & essentials 2012.

media player , windows movie maker have played mpeg videos.  last week stopped.

the screen says windows media player has stopped working.  a problem caused program stop working correctly. windows close program , notify if solution available.  

neither program seems effected other files types.

i have tried repairing windows essentials , have noticed no help.

regarding concern media player, have happened due several reasons. resolve concern, can check answer of ststuart_pvs last march 21, 2017 in thread: mpg files no longer play after windows 10 update.
