Laptop keeps installing home when I want pro oem - Microsoft Community

i have been given laptop had windows 10 home on it. have new windows 10 pro oem key attempting install. @ no point allow me enter key , automatically activates 10 home. have uninstalled home key with slmgr /dlv . have gone far pull hhd , full format via pc. thats when noticed no hhd still had sort of built in windows repair. although windows repair failed due missing files. tried editing image add edition id , pid.txt did wrong , image didn't work.

also have looked everywhere in bios , cant find anyway the uefi firmware settings

use following work around:

upgrade windows 10 pro using following default product key:

vk7jg-nphtm-c97jm-9mpgt-3v66t

after upgrading, proceed enter windows 10 pro oem product key.

click start > settings > update & security > activation > change product key enter new product key click next to activate



Windows / Windows 10 / Install, upgrade, & activate / PC
