Windows 10 ignores custom manifest file if a program is indirectly - Microsoft Community

hi,

because laptop has 4k hdpi screen , use second monitor that's "only" full hd, supposedly hdpi-aware applications confused if move window between these 2 monitors (the scaling factor different each of them, obvious reasons). so, added "preferexternalmanifest" key registry , created custom manifest on same path executable file applications, adobe acrobat, force hdpi scaling. now, if open pdf file directly on explorer, win 10 correctly uses custom file , works great. however, if ask pdf file opened externally inside application chrome, firefox or mendeley, i.e., when acrobat indirectly called open file, windows ignores custom manifest file , opens acrobat "dpiaware" field set true, , scaling stops working again. if close acrobat , open same file inside explorer, works fine.

what can do?

in advance!

this question outside scope of site (for consumers) , sure best answer should asked either on technet (for pro's) or msdn (for developers)
