Apps Not Working After Battery Fell Out - Microsoft Community

operating windows 8.1.  battery door snagged , accidentally opened, causing battery fall out of computer while playing microsoft solitaire.  after reinstalling , restarting computer, solitaire app not work , gives error mssg. contact admin repairing or reinstalling.  store app , change pc settings apps won't work. not sure if others won't work.  searched google answers , tried system file checker in command prompt wouldn't work.  tried troubleshooting got error on too.  tried safe mode couldn't start in safe mode either.  event log shows critical event identified kernel-power , i'm assuming maybe got corrupted when power interrupted can't figure out how correct it.  read possibly doing system refresh i'm scared of losing files.  know how might can fix problem?  thanks.
