windows 10 downloading & installing very slow & often fails - Microsoft Community

dell laptop 6 months   when   using a  wireless or hardwired downloading or installing updates slow & fail.     have dell desktop , have no problem there,.     cable provider reliable.

there may underlying factors on laptop cause speed not fast should. have better idea of why happens, please answer these questions:

• was way since getting device?
• is connection slow when browsing web?
• did start after installing programs or updates?
• what error message when updates fail?

let's see if issue related drivers on laptop running hardware , devices troubleshooter. follow these steps:

1. click on start.
2. type troubleshooting then press enter.
3. on left panel, click on view all.
4. select hardware , devices and allow troubleshooter run.

you can try troubleshooter on page diagnose , fix errors windows update.
