.NET Framework 4.7 Offered by Windows Update and Offline Installer - Microsoft Community

hi guys,

i wanted post ask if has been able install new .net framework 4.7 windows 10 on windows 10 machine?

yesterday when updating laptop, offered windows update after else had been downloaded , installed.  i installed new recent cumulative update manually, find method more efficient.  it downloaded failed install after sitting 'preparing install' on 10 mins.  the following screenshot shows have in windows update @ moment;

there no logging of failing install in of event logs - system, setup or application.

from here, decided download offline installer following url;

microsoft .net framework 4.7 (offline installer) windows 7 sp1, windows 8.1, windows 10 anniversary update, windows server 2008 r2 sp1, windows server 2012, windows server 2012 r2 , windows server 2016

this failed install, setup.exe process crashed , stalled.  after running hour, cancelled , closed application.

i rebooted laptop , came cleanly.  since haven't attempted this, isn't being offered windows update component - have run windows update couple of times , windows defender definition updates.

with in mind, have following questions;

• has .net framework 4.7 installer been removed windows update?
• is there issue it?
• is needed installed on windows 10 device?

is there revised version coming?

.net framework 4.7 released part of windows 10 creators update.

assist better, kindly provide more details answering following questions:

• which version of windows 10 running? press windows key + r, type winver, , press enter.
  
• what last cumulative update installed on computer?

if have installed windows 10 creators update recently, net framework 4.7 installed automatically. may reason why .net framework 4.7 update not appearing offered update device.

should have further questions, feel free us.
