Windows 7 isn't recognising my SD card - Microsoft Community

reason, decided put stuff games 'n' stuff on sd card. but, when searching it, didn't find it. built-in sd reader. says "sd/mmc - ms/pro". searching in wrong place or windows? i'm running windows 7, plus gaming pc (windows 10) don't think has sd card reader, that's why i'm using laptop. doing wrong?

with card inserted card reader, if click start orb , click "computer" should see category of "devices removable storage" , should see card in 1 of these icons.  if don't ...

two possibilities:

1.  if never computer read or write sd card, it's possible built-in card reader not compatible card.  happens older card readers , newer high-capacity cards.  see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/secure_digital#compatibility

2.  it's common card readers stop working, either or -- multi-slot readers -- slots.  if card used work in card reader, buy usb-connected sd card reader.  not expensive, sure 1 can read type of card have.
