Windows 10 won't update after clean re-installation of Windows 7 - Microsoft Community


originally, desktop has 2 hard drives: 240 gb intel ssd called c drive os, , 600 gb western digital hdd called d drive store data.

originally, had windows 7 professional.

in 2015/2016, downloaded , installed free windows 10 upgrade.

in january 2017, d drive store data full.

i installed brand new third hard drive, western digital 2 tb hdd called e drive data, c drive win 10 os not recognised!

the pc forced me reformat c drive, , reinstall original windows 7 professional disc.

i downloaded media creation tool seems have downloaded windows 10, now, past 7 days, pc has been trying "get updates", keep seeing window below, , pc can't seem download updates windows 10.

does know how can download updates windows 10?

did check windows 10 drive remained first boot in bios setup, or if have uefi windows boot manager stayed first boot , not new hard drive?  4 methods access uefi bios setup in windows 8/10 pc/laptop/tablet

there no reason reinstall windows 7 , inferior upgrade install again windows 10 because once pc has windows 10 can superior clean install windows 10 best install of windows 1 can have.

if want keep trying upgrade unplug other drives first.  if causes windows not start plug them in , post screenshot of disk mgmt.
