Operating System Recovey - Microsoft Community

i attempted system reset on old hp notebook , stated there problem reset.  it gave me option attempt reset again or shut down computer.  first, attempted reset again, got same result.  the second time, shut computer off.  when brought computer up, not able locate operating system.  i don't windows 10 being on hp have, how can @ least os restored machine?
