after several months of experiencing windows 10 anniversary edition (1607) install failures , endlessly searching microsoft forums , internet in vain solution, found post said installs have failed because hadn't removed wifi dongle laptop's usb port during install. i hadn't needed remove initial windows 10 update or other install, removed dongle, restarted laptop, , voila! update installed first time! i never saw vital piece of information anywhere in support or in of microsoft forums. knowing removing dongle have saved me hours , hours (about 4 hours per install attempt) of downtime , frustration. please remember there lot of end-users me unaware of these small, significant, requirements; of of windows users, need windows support , user forums.
