Developer mode not working? - Microsoft Community

alright, had windows dev mode enabled quite time, now, says failed install package. know have not had updates , checked not have updates.

i try editing registry wu service thing , wasn't there in first place created , set value 0 , try doing stuff in group policy , needs be. need here...

also, saying, information got, don't ask more or not enough.

error code: "developer mode package failed install. error code 0x80004005" , "use developer features" above in red text states "some settings managed organization." , use pc personal home use. not have domain setup , not part of one, own system administrator anyways.

in cases, error indicates components required operating system enable additional debugging features in visual studio or windows device portal not installed automatically. here's how fix this:

1. open settings app.
2. click apps & features.
3. choose manage optional features.
4. click add feature.
5. select package windows developer mode.
6. click install.
7. reboot pc.
8. launch command prompt administrator.
9. run: sc config debugregsvc start=auto.

return developers settings page. still see error code, should able enable windows device portal , device discovery features.

note: after seeing error message, device in developer mode , should still able use visual studio develop universal windows applications.
