Delay In Logging Off; Waiting For Background Program To Close; - Microsoft Community

a recent problem developed last week, , each time log off windows 7 computer there's several second delay in message "waiting background program close" , "task host window."

i understand there 3 suggested solutions.   did not apply "hotfix" because microsoft warns "installing incorrect hotfix can cause damage system" , "if not sure whether hotfix correct 1 system, not install it." did try second , third suggestions, , after running system file checker , safety scan found no corrupt files , no viruses.

my question should try hotfix or leave enough alone?  several second delay in logging off computer not bother me although i'm curious why issue has arisen , why occurs each time.  long there no security or other serious issue involved leaving situation should accept apparent glitch without attempting fix it?
