Windows 10 Pro gets stuck at Welcome Screen (Preparing Your - Microsoft Community

good morning

most of computers in our domain stuck @ welcome screen in windows 10 pro. noticed happens after users shut down computer before leaving day. have force shutdown before trying log in again everytime, and don't think computer. instructed them lock computers or put them sleep. tried fixing issues happened before hard shutdown event viewer of them event 10016 (dcom) worked while problem showed again. updated network drivers, chipset, , firmware. tried disabling "turn on fast startup" power settings. enabled verbose startup setting registry see computer failing loads group policy settings , gets stuck in "preparing desktop". else having same issue? know how fix it?

there several reasons why stuck @ windows welcome screen. may include corruption within user profile or recent change computer settings may have triggered issue. in order efficiently assist concern, have few questions you: 

 

  1. were there changes made computer prior issue?  

  2. have tried unplugging cords including ethernet cord if using ethernet connection?

  3. what troubleshooting steps have performed?
