How can I stop the Windows 10 Creators Update from installing on my - Microsoft Community

second time update has failed install, gets 86% , stays there , not move. last time left 10 hours @ 86% , didn't move. had switch pc off @ power button , wait whilst reverted older version. getting tedious. not want update. have home edition , wish stop update.

we cannot imagine how frustrating situation be. let's work on together. follow steps below work around on failed installation of windows 10 creators update:

  1. let's see if the windows update troubleshooter can diagnose issue.
  2. if issue persist, download update in microsoft update catalog. search for kb4015583.
  3. if issue persist, run these commands:
    • press windows key + x and select command prompt (admin).
    • type dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and press enter.
    • once it's done, type sfc /scannow and press enter.
    • restart computer.

please advise necessary.
