Automatic Windows Update Problems - Microsoft Community

i running windows 10 pro 64 bit on high-end amd pc platform. continually have windows update problem , have not been able fix it.

specifically, automatic updates work sporadically. more not, must manually check updates. when this, updates appear download , install ok.

i have run windows defender scans, ms malicious software removal tool scans , msert scans. none have found anything.

when download , run latest update troubleshooter, works , finds corrupt database or other issues , fixes them. automatic update resume. . .for while.  more however troubleshooter gets hung on "checking registry keys" or "starting bit service" , not complete. have let go on several occasions twelve hours , tool remains in 1 of apparent loops described above.

i contacted ms support other day via chat , agent initiated remote session , made changes system via command line entries, etc. disconnected before completed. second agent made additional entries via command line, etc. , told me "good go". not so. automatic updates stopped working after day or so.

any suggestions welcome. thanks.

please use autoruns delete 34 entries words “file not found” appear. autoruns can uncheck item, disables starting, or can right click item , delete it. click everything tab , rows highlighted in yellow. delete disabled item need recheck before can delete it.

do have idea of root cause?

it difficult parasites have been contributory factor.
