Message "Checking windows update, this might take a while" - Microsoft Community

every time try use windows update find printer's driver fails find driver. 1 printer epson l110 know available through windows update. know because epson's website says , because i've used other computers on same network find driver , has no problem. computer i'm using new windows 8 laptop (so there's no viruses). i've tried disabling firewall , doesn't help. 

it says checking windows update. might take while...  and after few minutes or message pops , says no driver found.

any ideas problem or how diagnose it?
