windows 10 april 2017 update hangs during install.  pc  stops .and dots stop turning.  the option turn off pc , on again.  

i think microsoft disabled option stop updates. try download updates in background.

there workaround setting connection "metered connection". make windows download critical updates. may affect connection speed.

you can disable windows update service, unable use windows store or other apps.

ultimately, updates provides fixes , improves security of system. maybe necessary.
