Laptop touch pad scrolling is always disabled upon start up - Microsoft Community

i have acer aspire 1 laptop having windows 7 home premium , has elan touch pad. did clean boot on laptop fix update issues. disabled services , after restart, touch pad doesn't respond scrolling on sides anymore. not 2 finger scrolling. tried fixing in mouse settings , saw scrolling enabled. clicked ok , error message saying "exception unknown exception software 'failed'" (or something, can't remember) in location that's named series of numbers (ie. 0x400026 this). clicked ok terminate program says , it's normal. after restart, scrolling still doesn't work. had repeat above process again. think might have disabled touch pad service not activate on start up. still, don't know how fix , it's annoying keep on fixing in mouse settings every after restart.

how fix this? in advance!
