so tried install linux distribution (apricity) alongside windows 10 reason not know, cannot boot windows 10. there's no option pick os boot when turning on pc. checked partitions on linux , there's no longer ntfs partition i'm supposing linux installed on windows. pc came windows 8 got windows 10 free upgrade. pc linked microsoft account think never manually linked windows 10 product key email. not know if done automatically. thing got microsoft agent , suggests me installing windows 8.1 , upgrading windows 10. process take time, there way install windows 10? product key automatically linked account? not want miss chance use windows 10 free nor i'd go windows 8.1. thank in advance.
go working computer running windows 7 or later, download create bootable copy:
step 1: how download official windows 10 iso files
step 2: configure bios boot install media:
bios/uefi setup guide: boot cd, dvd, usb drive or sd card
step 3: perform clean install, choose windows 10 home when prompted, since system came with.
how to: perform clean install of windows 10
if prompted enter product key, click 'i don't have key' , 'do later'
windows 10 should automatically reactivate.
if experience problems activation, try following:
windows 8.0, windows 8.1 or windows 10 came preinstalled on computer, how find product key?
press windows key + x
click command prompt (admin)
enter following command:
wmic path softwarelicensingservice oa3xoriginalproductkey
hit enter
the product key revealed, copy product key enter it
click start > settings > update & security > activation > change product key enter new product key click next to activate
if unable activate windows 10 after above , have correct edition installed, please attempt phone activation:
