Cortana Search Results vs Search Options for Files and Folders - Microsoft Community

hi everyone!

i'm wrangling search settings , hoping else might have solution.

basically, want cortana's search to show results differently how preferred files , folders view , search would show.

what need: cortana display search results either list view (documents or music files, etc.) or icon view (images or displayed visual thumbnail).  no thumbnails allowed.

cortana's pop-up search results handy, but when images queued potential search results, it is also literally revealing because of cortana's vertical sidebar pop-up appearance , turn off thumbnail view privacy reasons... and for cortana only.

i graphic artist , illustrator , have huge collection of graphics sorted various folders per project.  while need able jump folder or file particular project including images, don't need thumbnail of every single related image or possible related image pop up, too, potentially violate nda.

i know can "change search options files , folders" to show icons , not thumbnails which therefore be applied cortana, changes how of files , folders displayed when manually browsing , don't want that.

some things discovered:

- changing file , folder view settings per folder doesn't change how cortana display items folder when searching

- changing view in "files , folders" in "change search options files , folders" settings changes in cortana... change in manual/normal folders , files view

any solutions or ideas might have missed?

as of now, cortana not have search option want idea. can suggest our developers can consider it. can post feedback here.
