Windows 7 service pack 1 update problems - Microsoft Community

trying update windows 7 service pack 1 x64 - based systems (kb976932).  i keep getting error message says failed update.  the error code 800b0100.

i suggest run microsoft genuine advantage diagnostics tool in normal mode (not safe mode) , copy , paste results in reply further analysis:

run tool , when completes click copy button, open text file word or notepad , select edit, paste. can paste directly reply here. open reply, right click , select paste.

please run system file checker , say if cannot fix corrupted files. select start, programs, accessories, right click command prompt, , click run administrator drop down menu.. type cd\ , press enter. type "sfc /scannow" without quotes , press enter key. when completes type exit, press enter key , restart computer. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

 

after process has finished, may receive 1 of following messages:

•windows resource protection did not find integrity violations.

•windows resource protection not perform requested operation.

•windows resource protection found corrupt files , repaired them.

•windows resource protection found corrupt files unable fix of them.
