Problems with Windows10 Update - Cannot install drivers for scanner - Microsoft Community

hello,

i cannot use scanner function of printer. printer function works fine. cannot check if fax function works. using laptop windows10x64,no networked / shared scanner, scanner printer – scanner – fax combination, connected via usb, contacted brother customer support told me not me windows10 problem. there no antivirus program other microsoft defender. when trying install updates, got following error messages:

brother - printers - brother mfc-7820n usb printer – error 0x80070012

brother - printing, scanner - brother mfc-7820n – error 0x80070002

brother driver update brother mfc-7820n fax – error 0x80070002

after having researched error code 0x80070002, got couple of suggestions solve problem on microsoft pages. made sure microsoft account sync disabled – user suggestion – did not fix problem either. went through steps of following page https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors. downloaded file windows update troubleshooter called “latestwu.diagcab” , supposedly fixed problems scanner still did not work. suggested „download recent kb“ in case kb4013429. took hour download when tried execute command got error message „eigenstaendiges windows update installationsprogramm. das update ist nicht fuer ihren computer geeignet.“ translation: independent windows update installationprogramme. update not suited computer“.

i nevertheless proceeded step 4 „run dism command“ , got error code 14098. ran commands of site https://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh824869.aspx(the last paragraph of instructions, however, not clear me). got error message „komponentspeicher“ component storage damaged can repaired. when tried repair got error message „abbild“ image cannot accessed. before proceed restore windows 7, or uninstall , reinstall, wondering whether has alternative suggestions solve problem? thank you!
