Problems with digital license when activating Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

my wife's computer got infected virus , have formatted hard drive.

during reinstalling windows i am getting error message during activation: activation failed because device doesn't have valid digital entitlement or product key. error code: 0x803f7001 . looks there problem digital license microsoft windows. windows installed on computer when bought it, not have either disk or product key.

would appreciate help.

windows 10 came preinstalled on computer, how find product key?

press windows key + x

click command prompt (admin)

enter following command:

wmic path softwarelicensingservice oa3xoriginalproductkey

hit enter

the product key revealed, copy product key enter it

click start > settings > update & security > activation > change product key enter new product key click next to activate

if unable activate windows 10 after above , have correct edition installed, please attempt phone activation:

activate windows 10 license via microsoft chat support
