Trouble Installing .NET Framework 4.0 - Microsoft Community

  i'm trying games on steam running, each require microsoft framework 4.0 , when try install it, installer gets hung trying install "microsoft framework 4.0: client profile" , doesn't progress. i've tried following suggested on various forums:

    -restart computer

   - install , run framework cleanup tool microsoft

   - stop "windows update" in services.msc

   - restart installation

i'm operating on mac windows 7 ultimate bootcamped onto it. it's genuine copy , it's activated.

my leading theories driver issue though highly unlikely, or possibly issue antiviral again it's unlikely , notification that.

is there information left out useful know?
