Touchscreen on Windows 8.1 stopped working? Please help. - Microsoft Community

i've had laptop 2 years now, have never experienced issue until tonight. working fine earlier, , didn't happen after sort of update. randomly stopped working. i've tried steps such wiping off screen because of dirt or grime -which screen literally had none of- did anyways, , nothing. tried restarting, nothing. 

i came across 1 post prompted me go device manager , human resources drive, when went touchscreen wasn't there, , can't find calibration system try that. yes, not incompetent it's literally not there. i'll post pictures, maybe can or has experienced well.

i did attempt update afterward , didn't fix issue. i'll try restarting again, i'm assured isn't going fix issue.

since mentioned issue occur after update, may ask if have updated driver of touch pad driver manufacturer's website? also, kindly try follow steps below resolve issue:

step 1:reboot system in “safe mode” , check if works.

how boot system in “safe mode networking”, please follow steps in link provided below.

windows startup settings (including safe mode).

important:  placing system in clean boot state helps in identifying if third party applications or startup items causing issue. need follow steps article mentioned below perform clean boot.

note: refer "how reset computer start after clean boot troubleshooting" reset computer start normal after troubleshooting.
