how to stop an out of date driver being installed by MS Update - Microsoft Community

hi

is there away of stopping ms updates automatically updating more update driver 1 installed. corrupting system , hard restore after happens every 3 or days.

the driver in question creative - audio device - sound blaster audio controller

ms update installs version 6.0.102.37

the latest @ creative 6.0.102.42 , digitally signed.


in windows 10, device kept up-to-date have latest features , fixes. drivers installed automatically don't have select updates needed. in rare cases, specific driver might temporarily cause issues affect device. in situation, can prevent problematic driver reinstalling automatically next time windows updates installed.
