Windows 8.1 unable to get microsoft updates after recovery - Microsoft Community

hp laptop, windows 8.1, 64 bit.

i did recovery (remove , reinstall).

in control panel check updates , runs, no response.  recent check updates never. updates installed never.  install updates automatically on.  ran fix problems windows update administrator.  got potential windows update database error detected 0x80070490 says fixed , windows update components must repaired says fixed.

close , restart, same:  no updates , same results on update troubleshooter.

verified computer management services windows update automatic (trigger start). 

i missing something.  in advance.
