Can NOT login Laptop runnin' windows 8.1 says my password is - Microsoft Community

can not log on toshiba laptop runnin' windows 8.1  says password incorrect. have not updated 8.1 came lt. every time login my  windows updates. last day on laptop it just shut off. nope didn't shut down ,  it not restart. poof off. turned on , did scan, moved on surfin'  bam! turned off again, turned on again password logon laptop worked. later shut down , watched tv. different day got out laptop , entered password , said " password incorrect". can not past sign in screen.  no can not use disk made when first bought pc. stuck on screen picture , name , password box.

to access system restore, refresh , reset options using f12 option @ start up, perform following:

1. if not already, ensure computer shut down.
2. restart computer pressing power button - start tapping f12 key on keyboard until "boot menu" screen appears.
3. using arrow keys, select <hdd recovery> , press "enter".
4. on next screen asked confirm if want continue recovery. select "yes".
5. computer bring advanced start screen.
6. select troubleshoot. under troubleshoot see “refresh” , “reset”.
7. select “advanced options.” located here "system restore."

language. english – en-us if you're in united states.

edition. windows 8.1 (core), windows 8.1 n, windows 8.1 pro, windows 8.1 pro n, or windows 8.1 single language.

architecture. 64-bit (x64 ) or 32-bit (x86).
