replaced hard drive 3 days ago due hard drive freeze, after installing new 1 installed windows 8 , created new password, has been ok last 2 days morning says password incorrect. know new password wrote down making sure noted upper , lower case , symbols, tried several times still no luck. tried old password , won't work either. since can't on how access password change

if you've forgotten windows password, there several ways retrieve or reset it:

• if pc on domain, system administrator must reset password.

• if you're using local account, use password hint reminder.

if you've tried these suggestions , still can't sign in:

• if have windows 8.1, you'll need reinstall windows.

• if have windows rt 8.1, you'll need contact pc manufacturer.
