Automatic windows 10 update damaged IDT High Definition Audio no free - Microsoft Community

i have hp envy dv7 notebook pc windows 10 home 64 bit

when ransomware alert went out, long update started in computer.  when done, no longer had sound.  have spent 6 hours looking had free download. i've done of fixes suggested.

it's possible recent update affected sound drivers. we'd learn more concern provide proper resolution. have few questions you: 

  • have checked status of sound drivers in device manager? there errors or yellow exclamation points? check, click start, type devicemanager, , press enter. click drop-down arrow beside audio inputs , outputs. posting screenshot of well. 

  • since mentioned you've tried troubleshooting concern, steps have done far? please list them move on next step.
