System Restore failed to extract the original copy of the directory - Microsoft Community

over past weekend (2/24-2/26), handful of computers no longer boot windows.

when attempting system restore different restore points, receive message. on occasions, received system error code 0x80070091:

system restore did not complete successfully. computer's system files , settings not changed.

details:
system restore failed extract original copy of directory restore point.
source: %programfiles%\windowsapps
destination: appxstaging
restore point damaged or deleted during restore.
