is else having difficulty getting kb4015217 install?
andrew
no more mr. nice guy! try this:
1. create folder in c: called scratch. (the [c:\scratch] folder serve memory using hard drive dism.exe installation.)
2. create folder called update in c:.(the [c:\update folder house kb downloaded update catalog].)
3. download kb windows update catalog update folder. hint: navigate c:\update\ folder , rename long name kb4015217.msu backing out of gui. save fingers , typos later on.
4. in lower left corner, left click flying window logo , select settings icon (looks snow flake me.) when settings window comes up, click on update , security > recovery , select restart under advanced startup heading. computer reboot advanced startup menu. navigate option allows run command prompt. (troubleshoot > advanced options > command prompt). computer reboot once again , should see familiar command prompt x: window.
when x: command prompt appears, type following:
dism.exe /image:c:\ /add-package /packagepath:c:\update\kb4015217.msu /scratchdir:c:\scratch
[don't mess up! nothing happen, won't run either! space important because space delimiter each dism.exe command switch. proper use of forward , slash important.
the forward slash starts dism command, , of course, backslash folders. below, spaces spelled out (space).
dism.exe(space)/image:c:\(space)/add-package(space) /packagepath:c:\update\kb4015217.msu(space)/scratchdir:c:\scratch]
Windows / Windows 10 / Windows update, recovery, & backup / PC
