Unplugging Devices - Microsoft Community
Windows / Windows 7 / Devices & drivers
i aware usb devices can unplugged while computer turned on (e.g. webcam, headset, keyboard, , scanner) because cables hot-plugged. however, none of these devices have power cord.
1. laser printer usb device has power cord; can usb cable unplugged while computer on?
if yes: safety purposes, should power cord unplugged usb cable or order not matter?
if computer should turned 'off' first, should printer power cord unplugged usb cable or again not matter order done?
2. can non-usb flat screen monitor 'pin port' cable (that screws computer port , uses power cord) unscrewed while computer turned on because considered hot-plugged?
-if yes: safety purposes, should monitor power cord unplugged usb cable or order not matter?
-if computer should turned off first, should monitor power cord unplugged usb cable or again not matter order done?
