Third-party software installation failure, perhaps caused by .NET - Microsoft Community

hi,

i tried installing tableau data analytics software , error:

the link explains error not specific software , suggest 3 possible solutions system. tried first two, didn't work. third suggestion related .net framework, cannot try it, because .net framework not reinstall when download it. instead, receive message:

.net framework 4.6.2 or later update installed on computer.

however, cannot uninstall it, not appear in programs , features list , when try turn windows features on or off, message:
the referenced assembly not found. error code: 0x80073701

we suggest perform these steps , see if helps:

step 1: perform system file checker (sfc) scan.
 
system file checker utility in windows allows users scan corruptions in windows system files , restore corrupted files. perform sfc scan, may refer link.
 
step 2: clean boot.

clean boot performed start windows using minimal set of drivers , startup programs. eliminate software conflicts occur when install program. please see link steps.
