Windows Live Hotmail account won't download or delete messages. - Microsoft Community

hi,

my windows live hotmail account causing me angst.  first going through folders everytime sign in (deleted, storage folders on various issues, , new messages).  recently has been taking forever , telling me imap not responding.  so wait & wait.  i empty deleted folder on regular basis , have security set should automatically delete unknown sender emails.  i did find appears deleted emails being stored on hard drive , size enormous.  i have tried find answer on microsoft, no help!  surprise! 

any ideas willing try!!

regarding concern, can try repairing windows live essentials doing following:

1. launch control panel.
2. click programs.
3. click programs , features.
4. search windows essentials , click on it.
5. click uninstall/change or change/remove.
6. click repair windows essentials programs.
7. use windows live mail app again after repair process.

if issue persists after doing steps above, try removing , re-adding email account in said app.

let know happens after doing mentioned troubleshooting steps.
