not able to watch videos taken on my ZTE Warp 7 on the laptop - Microsoft Community

i bought zte warp 7 cell phone , have been checking out in phone. afternoon tried camera, taking pictures , videos. tonight copied them laptop (win 7). can see pictures (and thumbnail picture) no problems. can't see videos, there's no thumbnail picture showing , can't video play.

any ideas before take phone back?

what format videos in? if there number of different recording choices on phone, try changing format making videos in. example if phone - http://www.pdevice.com/product/zte-warp-7-specs it claims have following support - "yes support 3gp, mp4, wmv, xvid, avi, divx, mkv, h.264, h.263"

so try format if can.

these supposed formats various versions of wmp support - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/316992/file-types-supported-by-windows-media-player, try record in format wmp claims support. possibly try mp4 or 3gp wmp12. if doesn't help, try of format matches see if work ok.

alternatively, try (free) media player vlc. download , install vlc  (don't let become default player until happy , wish use it), , use menu commands try open , play 1 of videos. if vlc plays them correctly can link video file type play on vlc default.
