Cannot type in Search - Microsoft Community

i not having problems windows 10 since upgraded windows 7 since 05-jan-2017, can not type in search, don't see drop down menu after win button r, shows zip files saving or so. tried follow web search instructions still has same issue, in getting window 10 again?

also in search button not allow type , in command prompt (admin) when click doesn't allow write gets hanged

is edge having problem or cortana/windows search?

win+r opens run dialogue dropdown history, if haven't entered or if have cleared history, there nothing in list. win+r not search box. can type in box?

have tried basics such system file checker?

when command prompt hangs, error message? does try recover?
