My windows 10 laptop(activated) was reset to windows 7 and now - Microsoft Community

windows 10 pc wasn't working (worked slowly) got wiped , re-installed windows 7(the guys @ computer shop said install version laptop came with). re-downloaded windows 10 professional n , asking activation key. cost of windows 10 pro 899 aed prefer cheaper option. don't know whether product key can sold seperately or whether computer company installed windows 7 on pc activated it. need urgently

if running windows 10, entitled reinstall , reactivate it. need reinstall , reactivate edition of windows 10 corresponds windows 7 license.

please note: the copy of windows 10 download , upgrade correspond edition of windows have installed, if not, why might experiencing problems activating:

• windows 7 starter, home basic, home premium, windows 8.0 core, windows 8.1 core should install windows 10 home
  
• windows 7 professional, windows 7 ultimate, windows 8.0 pro, windows 8.1 pro should install windows 10 pro
  

when upgraded previous version of windows or receive new computer preinstalled windows 10, happened hardware (your pc) digital entitlement, unique signature of computer stored on microsoft activation servers. windows 7 or windows 8 genuine license running exchanged diagnostics key.

anytime need reinstall windows 10 on machine, proceed reinstall windows 10. automatically reactivate.

there no need know or new key, if have issues digital licensing or activation troubleshooter, can utilize existing windows 7 or windows 8/8.1 product key you ownto reactivate if necessary. or use reset function in windows 10.

if prompted enter product key, click 'i don't have key' , 'do later'

windows 10 pro n customers in europe , regular non-edition of windows 7 key not activate it.
