Display Driver Stopped Responding Windows 8 - Microsoft Community

just today started getting message saying display driver has stopped responding , has recovered.  why happening , need do?

hi amy, 

there several reasons can cause error in computer. 1 of these corrupted or missing system file.

you may run system file checker identify , troubleshoot error. 

you can follow steps through fix windows update errors using dism or system update readiness tool check update errors. 

note: please perform clean boot on pc. 

clean boot temporarily disables third party applications microsoft non-essential services basic drivers run. find third-party software can cause of issue.
