windows 10 creators update lost my photos - Microsoft Community

i keep photos on pc, not on onedrive. have backups i've been traveling last month has had no backup. creators update happened-- kept scheduling itself. after took ages finishing , restarting, desktop background , screensaver gone. found photos last month gone. file paths there, , frustratingly on onedrive, files empty. onedrive limited 5gb photos @ least 10gb worth.

the windows.old file not contain lost files @ all. no user pathway in file explorer has them. no scouring lost jpeg files or deleted files or recovering of lost data via third party programs has brought them back. gone. olympus program use copy them camera still has little thumbnail previews can see have lost.

why did install wreck work whole of may? there miracle cure out there data?

after changes on pc, you may experience trouble finding old files.  better assist concern, we'd know following:

• have tried checking photos under users in drive c?
• do have multiple user profiles?  if yes, have tried checking photos on different user profile?
